Millie Dee Photography Sweet 16 Photo Session
I got a call from a Mom….well, admittedly, a lot of Moms call our studio, however, as she was trying to describe what she wanted to ask for, I started laughing and she didn’t know what to think. Mom was telling me the only thing her daughter wanted for her sixteenth birthday was a professional photo session. I said, I get it, I have 2 teens around that age, too, so I think I may be a good fit for you, so I asked her for more information about her daughter.
What an awesome Mom to arrange this for her wonderful kiddo. In hearing about this young woman, I couldn’t wait to meet her, so we arranged for a Facetime call so I could meet the birthday girl and that she could meet me in hopes of making this teen feel more comfortable for her session.
I was so intrigued and excited to speak with her after hearing so much about her, that we ended up speaking a little longer than expected because we were having so much fun on the phone, in the meantime, my kids were waiting for me because the NY Yankees were in the playoffs and we were heading to Yankee Stadium for the game. Ok, we were a few minutes late, but it was an Epic game, as we saw Aaron Judge hit a home run, the Yankees won and ended up going to the World Series…but I digress…
During our conversation, we talked about outfits, inspo, music, snacks, school, family, etc… The more she spoke, the more I wanted to know about her….
The day of her session arrives, and she arrives at the studio with her family Mom has some props and decorations to use, including the big mylar 1 and 6 balloons and we get this young lady in a robe and put her in the hair and makeup chair where Desiree of Desiree Tunerro Makeup Co did an awesome job as always for this young client.
We were blasting her favorite tunes, her Dad stopped by with McDonald’s, and we were having a parrrtayy! Well, if you’ve ever had a photo session with Millie Dee Photography studio, you know, it’s a really awesome experience. I’m grateful for the women I get to work with at the studio who make up our team, everyone from answering messages to assisting during sessions to professional hair and makeup, to delivering photo albums and wall art to clients, I’m very lucky that we all understand the game plan is to serve…our….clients! You have our hearts and professional expertise from the first contact to when you have your wall art in your hands.
We take care of everything at the studio, do you need styling ideas? We got you, we even have a wardrobe if you want it, or we can make suggestions of pieces from your own wardrobe, which is what we did here….I tell clients to pretend that they’re moving into the studio and just bring a BUNCH of clothing and we’ll create some fun outfits at the studio, and that’s what we did. She had her ideas and I made a couple of suggestions and we got out the Victoria’s Secret Angel Wings. I should mention, that we didn’t just get out the wings on a whim, it was planned, Mom had mentioned they saw a picture of the wings on my website and we discussed it during our Facetime talk, too.
The Sweet 16 Birthday photo session was a huge success, we got lots of pictures, with lots of different looks and lots of fun memories, too.
