morris county maternity photographer on a new photo session idea for clients
Everyone I talk to is feeling the effects of inflation. I love New Jersey, but one thing I don’t love is how high the cost of living here is. The clients I usually see are growing their families and many have recently purchased a house, had a wedding and are shopping for baby things, knowing the years ahead of them and growing their family will come at a cost.
I, as a photographer, a mom, a business owner, take a lot of factors into consideration with my business and I don’t cut corners; I’m more of a splurge, a luxury studio, offering many services in my Morris County, NJ photography studio for expecting and new moms such as professional hair and makeup, a creator to capture their vibe and make sure it transcends into their images along with giving these images my classic flair, assisting clients through the session, through choosing their final images and helping them with their choices of wall prints and photo albums.
I came up with this idea as I was trying on a gown at the studio and wanted to use it in a different way…then I tried it in again in another different way, and so on….I realized I’d gotten 5 looks out of the same dress. I thought BOOM! What if I offer clients a “ONE DRESS SESH?” One photo session, one dress, up to 5 different looks with one dress. Is that even possible? YES. We’re doing it. These are special sessions, that will be available on certain dates only and I’m excited to offer this to clients.
Can I let you in on a secret? Okay, it may not be such a secret but all of the images in this blogpost were taken using the same dress…yes…one dress and all of these different looks; and another bonus; I have the dresses already at my studio, which is going to save Moms time and money by not having to shop; I’ve already figured out which dresses will work for this type of maternity photo session.
Our first date for this ONE DRESS SESH will be near the end of this month. If all goes well, we will offer another near mid September. We do book out a few months in advance for our newborn and maternity clients, but hoping to reach more Moms by adding this session option once in a while.
Do you know when to book your maternity photo session? So, ideally, we take moms into the studio for photos at the end of your second trimester/beginning of the 3rd. In order to get on our schedule for this time in your pregnancy, it’s best to book in the beginning of your second trimester.
